CentrEau Hebd'Eau | The vulnerability of the drinking water sources of the Mille Îles River

39th webinar of the Hebd'Eau series entitled "The Mille Îles River: A Model for Source Water Protection"

Speaker: Prof. Sarah Dorner, Polytechnique Montréal, scientifique director of CentrEau

Language: French, with slide show in French

Summary: Collaboration between the municipalities along the Mille Îles River (Makigôtekw in abenaki), the Mille Îles Watershed Council (COBAMIL) and Polytechnique Montréal has been underway for several years on water intake vulnerability studies. This work has been supported by research projects on continuous monitoring of fecal contamination, hydrodynamic modelling and the impacts of climate change on water quality. This conference will present lessons learned regarding priority sources of contamination in urban areas and the importance of collaboration for water quality protection.

New series of weekly CentrEau webinars "all about water management". These short 20-minute presentations will be offered live every Thursday at 1 p.m. followed by a short discussion period. CentrEau professors and researchers, as well as guest speakers, will present their research work and its importance in a semi-popularized manner. Watch the previous webinars on our YouTube Channel.
