A flood map of the future

Since the beginning of the 21st century, floods are more and more frequent. They can affect hundreds or thousands of people. Today, the only way to prevent and monitor flood risks is through ground-based monitoring which is not available in all countries of the world. 

To allow a uniform, effective and reliable response, the method of mapping floods with earth observation data and machine learning is useful, despite the many limitations such as the difficulty of interpreting the images due to cloud cover. The experimentation of this new technique is only at the beginning.
