AGMQ & CERFO | Surface and subsurface hydrographic modeling of the Quebec City Agglomeration

*Event in French*

The Association de Géomatique Municipale du Québec (AGMQ) invites you to its second webinar of the year, entitled "Surface and subsurface hydrographic modeling of the Quebec City Agglomeration". This webinar will be presented by the Centre d’enseignement et de recherche en foresterie (CERFO).

Summary: The urban environment is a very complex space that undergoes important and rapid changes, influencing notably the use of water on its territory. In this context, the Agglomeration of Quebec wanted to obtain a current spatial portrait by acquiring better knowledge of its water resource. The development of lidar data in recent years offers an undeniable potential to better characterize this resource on surface. Nevertheless, important challenges remain when it comes to flow through subsurface networks such as storm sewers. CERFO's challenge was to develop a model of water flow patterns in order to determine, throughout the territory (about ten watersheds), the drainage area determined according to a specific point.
